The Wines:

Cantina Martinelli "Neanderthal" Skin Contact Garganega NV: While this wine does not see any flor aging, it’s neighboring barrels do and some of that ambient yeast has wormed its way into this wine. It’s aged in amphora and on skins for about 6 months and is a multi-vintage blend, adding to its incredible depth and complexity. Despite it’s long maceration with the skins, this is no tannin bomb and has great drinkability. Chamomile, apricot, orange peel, and a little ginger hit the nose and palate with a little nuttiness rounding it out.
